Swimming

Today I swam for the first time!

I was going on a walk with my humans and we passed the neighborhood pond. I was hot, so I just stepped in. The cool water felt really good. I walked in the water for a while, and then I finally went into the deep part and started swimming. My humans wouldn't let me inside for a while because I was wet, but I really enjoyed the swimming part.

Running!

I just got to run in a big field OFF LEASH!! For once in my life, I'm actually tired!

It was so fun-- I ran as fast as I could. My humans were so surprised because they had never seen me run that fast before!

I sure hope I get to do that again very soon!

Guess What I Found!!

You'll never guess what I dug up yesterday! The hole of some little animal! That animal, whatever it was, should be very glad it was not home when I dug up its house, because I would've devoured the little thing in one bite.

Anyways, I was on a walk with my humans when I got a whiff of this really interesting scent (the little animal, no doubt). I was finally able to pinpoint the exact location of the smell. I soon realized the smell was underground. That was no problem-- I just started digging and there it was-- the burrow.

I'm very proud of myself, even if I didn't get the animal that lived in the hole.

Babysat

My humans keep saying that in a couple of weeks I'm going to get 'babysat' for a day or two. What that means, I have no idea.

I just hope it involves food...

Strange Days

The last couple of days in my life have been very... eh... interesting. And by 'interesting' I don't mean the good kind of interesting.

It all started when I went on a hike with my dad (normally I LOVE hikes, but for once in my life I wish I had stayed home!)

When I got home from the hike I noticed all these sharp pointy thorns in my fur. With the help of my humans, I was able to pull most of them out after a couple of LONG, DREADFUL HOURS. Then the really strange stuff started happening.

That night my mom and the kids started screaming about this really terrible 'tick.' For a while I thought they were talking about the clock, but then I saw that they had put a little tiny bug in a sealed bag. I guess that was the tick.

The next day my humans were still talking about the tick (why that little tiny bug got them so excited, I'll never know.) Before I knew it my humans took me to a strange place they called the 'vet.' First this lady brought me into the room and did all these really weird uncomfortable things to me. Then the 'doctor' came in. He did even more weird uncomfortable things to me. At one point he used tweezers to pull another tick from my ear. Then he rubbed this gooey stuff on my skin.

Now I'm back home and both ticks are dead. I don't see why ticks are so bad, but I sure hope I don't get more, because they seem to cause an awful lot of trouble.

Water

Today my humans were out working in their garden. They were pouring water on all of their flowers for some strange reason. I was pretty thirsty, so I tried to move the flowers so I could get to the water. My humans got all mad at me, but I don't see why. You're supposed to DRINK water, not waste it by pouring it on the ground.

Sometimes, I just don't understand humans...

My Worst Enemies

I have three worst enemies and they all live near me. The first two are Rosie and Muffy, my next door neighbors. Rosie, a Shi-zhu, lives on one side of my backyard and Muffy, a Bichon-Frieze lives on the other. I usually bark at Rosie and Muffy across the fence and they bark back. I don't like them very much, but I don't mind them as much as my other worst enemy. He lives down the street. I don't know his name because I'm too scared to ask. He's a Rottweiler and he's not like Rosie and Muffy at all. He's the kind of dog that doesn't bark or growl to keep you off his property. He's the kind of dog that just stealthily walks up to you with an evil glare, then attacks. I've never barked at him, because I don't want him to attack me. Even so, both me and my humans have had several close calls.

Really, I kind of like barking at Rosie and Muffy. But I could live without that Rottweiler.
